A New Endeavor

Stasia has started a new knit along, the MEbius Knit Along, Moebius Scarf Crafting As Soulwork Scarf. This is a Mobius for yourself. Stasia was inspired by an article in An article by Parker J. Palmer from "Spirituality & Health" magazine called Finding Your Soul. At Stasia's kind request I amone of the group's moderators. This makes me feel like such a grown-up. A very odd feeling considering I am 44 with 3 boys (ages 11, 10 & 7). LOL

I have decided to knit my MEbius in a 3/3 rib. I don't know how well the pattern will show up in the chenille yarn I have chosen, but that is not the real point of the pattern choice. Three is such a meaningful number... birth/life/death, mind/body/spirit, Father/Son/Holy Spirit and so on.

I have not cast on yet. My first task is to wind my yarn into center pull balls which I also find meditative. Dez a member of the KnitU list said it best

"When you knit, the yarn is your fellow traveler. Winding it into a ball allows you to meet the yarn..... Before embarking on a complex project, hand-winding slows me down a bit to think and plan about the project and feel how the yarn will work up. I also find the act of hand-winding to be a very meditative and soothing act, so I sometimes wind by hand no matter what yarn it is. It is a wonderful way to de-stress."
